Numerical Simulation of Temperature Field during Selective Laser Sintering Process

Abstract:Aim Studying temperature field during select laser sintering and analyzing sintering width and depth under certain selected sintering parameters. Methods The sintering process and interrelation between thermal properties are analyzed. The adaptable finite element model is established. The code is programmed and used to simulate the temperature field. The result of simulation is used to define the depth and width of sintering. The computed results are verified with experimental temperature measurement. Results The difference between the results of simulation and the measurement is rather little. Conclusion The sintering technological parameters can be selected with this numerical simulation method.

1 SLS 成型原理及特点
SLS(Selective Laser Sintering) 成型原理[1]:利用 JY-ⅢA 型连续式 CO2 激光器为能量源,成型开始时铺粉滚筒将粉均匀地铺在加工平台上,激光束在计算机控制下以一定速度和能量密度扫描,激光束扫过之处粉末烧结成一定厚度的实体片层,未扫过的地方仍是松散粉末。制成第一层后,活塞下降一个与铺粉厚度相同的距离,再铺第二层粉末,重复该过程,一个三维实体就可以制造出来。SLS 成型系统简图如图1所示:
